ButterflyAttempting to fly

attempting to fly is an original 8” x 8” framed acrylic painting created during one of my favorite parts of being an artist: experimenting just to see what happens.

This piece began as a practice painting while I explored painting directly onto window screen. The texture of the screen becomes part of the artwork itself, giving the butterfly and its bright green background a completely different look than painting on a traditional canvas.

It was never intended to become a finished piece for sale, but sometimes experiments deserve to escape the studio too.

Original acrylic on screen, framed and ready for its next home.
